operates a 24 hours, 7 days a week. 
Physicians Hospital utilizes
the most state-of-the-art instrumentation
in performing analyses. Physicians Hospital
Clinical Laboratory routes all test results
via a hospital information system (Meditech
and Visual Med). This computerized system
allows for rapid access at nursing units,
patient rooms and remote areas.
By using this system the patient can have
his or her laboratory results referred to
a physician anywhere in the world within
a mater of minutes.

Performance Improvement Plan:
Physician Hospital Clinical Laboratory
participates in approved proficiency testing
programs through the College of American
Pathologists (CAP).  The
clinical laboratory participates in inter-laboratory
quality control programs for all instrumentation.
This program allows our laboratory to compare
the results obtained with manufactured control
material to other laboratories across the
nation. Through this proficiency testing
and quality control program Physicians Hospital
laboratory has been able to maintain state
licensure, CMS Accreditation (CLIA ID# 45D1013008),
CAP (LAP# 7183191) and approval by the Joint
Commission on the Accreditation of Hospital
Organizations (JCAHO).

Reference Laboratories:
Through services with Specialty Laboratories,
Physicians Hospital can obtain specialized
testing for the patient. Through this service
there is no diagnostic, therapeutic, or
screening laboratory procedure that is out
of reach to our patients. In addition, Physicians
Hospital can arrange to have specialized
testing procedures drawn at our facility
and delivered to the testing facility by
Federal Express. Current services offered
are drawing services for patients with organ
transplant and cancer treatment. This service
often allows the patient less travel to
have the testing performed.
